Commercial fencing by material
Commercial chain-link fencing
Chain-link is still the honest answer for most perimeter work. It secures the line, it does not block sightlines for cameras or a patrol, and it costs a fraction of anything decorative. For a street-facing property, the version worth paying for is black vinyl-coated — same fence, same framework, but it reads as a deliberate boundary instead of a storage yard. What actually moves the price is the framework underneath: pipe gauge, whether you run a top rail or a tension wire, and how tall you go. A 4-foot yard fence and an 8-foot secured perimeter are different builds, not the same fence stretched taller. If the site takes real traffic — forklifts, deliveries, people cutting through — tell us at the walkthrough and we will spec heavier posts, rather than straightening bent ones in two years.
Commercial aluminum fencing
Aluminum goes where the property is being looked at. Medical offices, banks, apartment entrances, anywhere the fence is part of how the site presents. It will not rust, because there is no steel hiding under the coating, so a street frontage holds its look without a recurring line in the maintenance budget. It also racks, which matters more than most people expect: on a sloped frontage the panels follow the grade instead of stepping down in visible increments, so the run reads as one clean line. Where it is the wrong call is anywhere impact is likely. Aluminum bends where steel deflects. Loading areas, equipment yards, and anything a vehicle can reach should be chain-link or steel.
Commercial wood fencing and screening
On a commercial site, wood is usually doing one job: hiding something. Dumpster enclosures, HVAC and generator screening, propane and equipment storage, the back of a restaurant that faces someone else’s patio. Local ordinances and landlords often require the screen, and wood is the least expensive way to satisfy that without looking like a temporary fix. Build it for the abuse it will take, though. A dumpster enclosure gets hit eventually, and the ones that survive have steel posts inside the wood and gate hardware rated well past what a residential fence would use. The cheap version of this is the one you replace.
